How to Host Images on SiteGround

Adding images to your SiteGround website is actually really easy—even if you’re totally new to building websites. No matter what kind of site you’re running—a blog, an online store, or even a personal gallery—having images that load quickly and look good is super important.

This guide is here to help you with that. I’ll show you, step-by-step, how to upload and host your images on SiteGround without using any confusing tech jargon. Everything is explained in plain, everyday language so you can follow along with confidence—even if you’re not a tech expert.

Step 1: Log into Your SiteGround Account

Log into Your SiteGround Account

To get started, you’ll need to sign into your SiteGround hosting account.

After logging in, you’ll be taken to your main SiteGround dashboard. This is the control center where you’ll see a list of all the websites you’ve set up under your account.

Step 2: Open Site Tools for Your Website

Once you’re signed in, it’s time to access the tools for the specific website where you want to upload your image.

This will open a new control panel called Site Tools, where you can manage everything related to your site—like uploading files, managing images, setting up email, and much more.

Step 3: Upload Your Images Using the File Manager

Now that you’re in Site Tools, let’s upload your image using SiteGround’s File Manager—this is where all your website files are stored, and you can add your own images directly here.

Here’s how to do it:

That’s it! Your image is now live on your SiteGround hosting account and ready to use on your website.

Step 4: Get the Link to Your Image (Image URL)

Once your image is uploaded, you’ll need the direct link (URL) to use it on your website.

Here’s how to grab it:

The image link will look something like this: https://yourdomain.com/wp-content/uploads/your-image.jpg

You can now paste this link anywhere on your website—whether you’re adding it to a blog post, a web page, or even directly into your HTML code. The image will show up instantly wherever you place the link.

Step 5: Use the Image in WordPress or Custom HTML

If you’re using WordPress:

  1. Go to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Click Pages or Posts > Edit the one where you want the image.
  3. In the block editor, click the + to add a block.
  4. Choose the Image block.
  5. Click Insert from URL and paste the URL you copied earlier.
  6. Or click Upload to upload directly from your computer again.

If you’re editing HTML manually:

<img src="https://yourdomain.com/wp-content/uploads/your-image.jpg" alt="Your Image Description">

Just paste this code where you want the image to appear.

Step 6: Check Image Display and Optimize

After inserting the image, visit your page and make sure it displays properly. Also, remember:
